Re: Greatest Dictator

Stalin must be the greatest dictator.

He maintained a social revolution all through his life.
He systematically eliminated all opposition to the social order he believed in.
He survived in times of political turmoil and eliminated his rivals and opponents.
He introduced reforms to lift its country from feodalism to make it a superpower in less than 3 decades.
He defeated all the enemies of his country.
He enlarged the footprint of his country and ruled almost over 2 continents.

Up to his death, he was both feared and adored by his people.

Well to be honest in terms of civilian economy Julius Caesar tore it apart, one of the many factors which brought about the Roman Empire.

And for some reason you avoid the fact that in order to finanace his campaigns Napoleon turned a blind eye to the Swiss financial invasion of France. I admit despite this some very powerful banks (e.g Credit Mobilier) did rise, but even now the French are mostly customers of Jewish and Swiss banks.

@Debater345

In your sense, it should be Hirohito who is the greatest dictator, as he caused the deaths of countless people both in his own country and abroad during his "Holy War". lol

Re: Greatest Dictator

The greatest dictator is clearly Joseph Stalin . He killed 20 million of his own people through starvation . Hitler only killed 6 million through burning , gassing , and other methods and they were not his own people.
Joseph Stalin in summary killed more through a more brutal way and killed the people he should have protected . I rest my case

And is there a fixed connection between freedom and happiness?

Quoting Vradonam: quotemark1 Somewhere in western Iberia, there is a people that doesn't rule, nor allow to rule quotemark2

I think for a people like that there is.

Edit: But...

No Freedom of speech, expression, Religion. Is that true freedom?. And what of the millions of Chinese working class in poverty because of the rotten, proto-capitalist state?. And the build up of the Chinese military is to engage in imperialism, which will never benefit the working class.

Every major country in Europe went to War with France because of the threat it posed to the old order. He had no other choice but to preemptively invade.

I didn't say otherwise.

Yes, Napoleon is a very liberal dictator, but that doesn't change his stance as an invader right?

Chiang was a defender, and a great one at that. And he defeated the last warlords at a 2:15 army number ratio. Hey, did Napoleon manage that? No.

Re: Greatest Dictator

@ChicagoER

OOOOOOOOOOOOO?. So Mao was a good man?. He Freed the people from capitalism and established a better society, right?. Wrong!. All He did was replace one Ruling class for another. He oppressed, rather than freed the Working class. His Industrialization plans were failures. It is true that the working class were better off under the Stalinist Dictatorship than under capitalism in terms of living standards, But that was only the tip of the iceberg of what they could have got, because there still existed a Ruling class, the Bureaucracy, that still took the majority of the wealth that the working class produced. And Lack of true freedom speaks for itself.

Re: Greatest Dictator

Napoleon was probably the greatest Military leader that ever existed, never really beaten when he was in personal command ('cept Waterloo) and Europe under his thumb. The Napoleonic code was very liberal for its time, Still in use today in France. He brought in the metric system. He did Soooooo much!

When did you start speaking like this?

And Napoleon in the financial sense was a national traitor. The Swiss banks overwhelmed native French banks in currency war because of the man's tolerance.
